Good Morning everyone and a warmly welcome in Aschaffenburg.

At first I would like to tell you something about our University. The University of Applied Sciences here in Aschaffenburg was grounded in 1995. At the moment we are more than 3200 Students. It is a student-focused University that means that we are studying in small classes. We do have a good compensation between theory and practice.

I am looking forward to study with you the next six months. For your daily routines it is important to have a look at your timetable.

The most of the days the University will start at 8 o'clock am, so be there a bit earlier. You can find a map of the campus at the website of the University, but you can always ask me or someone else from the students. I am sure everyone will help you.

During the lessons make your notes and listen carefully. One Lesson is about 45 Minutes, than there will be a break of 15 minutes. Maybe you have to change the room.

At 1 o'clock pm there is lunchtime for one hour. You can eat in our cafeteria or you can bring something from home and eat it. You can also go in town but make sure you are back at 2 o'clock pm. It depends on your timetable when University is over.

Sometimes there will be a few other meetings. I am sure you will be informed about it or you can see posters at the campus.

Lets talk about some differences between Germany and the United Kingdom.

As you maybe recognized we are driving on the right hand side and not like you on the left hand side. There is also a different in the car. Our steering wheel is at the left and not at right.

We also do have kilometre and not miles. One kilometre is about 0,62 miles, that means that one mile is about 1,61 kilometre. An other fact is that in Germany we do have the Euro but you can also pay with credit cards.

Last but not least I wish you a wonderful time in Germany and of course in Aschaffenburg. I am sure you will like it.

If you have any further questions, feels free to ask me.
