• In the MPR recording, "Brain Maturity Extends Well Beyond The Teen Years" the speaker, Sandra Aamodt, a neuroscientist, believes that maturity in adults happens after the age of 18, closer to the age of 25.
• "So the changes that happen between 18 and 25 are a continuation of the process that starts around puberty, and 18 year olds are about halfway through that process. Their prefrontal cortex is not yet fully developed. That's the part of the brain that helps you to inhibit impulses and to plan and organize your behavior to reach a goal." (Aamodt)

• I agree with this article because I think that people who are a little older than 18, like 20-25, make smarter choices than 18-year-olds. 
• Yes this article links the novel Dear Martin because a some of the choices that Justyce and other characters make that are not good choices, they are based on their ability to think about the choices before hand and like the article says, 18-year-olds are as good at doing that because there brain isn't fully developed.

• In the article "When are you really an adult" by Julie Beck the author believes that a person becomes an adult when you are between the ages of 22-25, but its not said exactly. The people she got the information from weren't exactly sure either.

• “It’s not just hard for Millennials; I think it was hard for Gen Xers, I think it was hard for Baby Boomers. All of a sudden you’re out in the world, and you have this insane array of options, but you don’t know which you should take. There’s all these things your mom and dad told you, presumably, and yet you’re living like a feral wolf who doesn’t have toilet paper, who’s using Arby’s napkins instead” (Beck).
• "In the United States, you can’t drink until you are 21, but legal adulthood, along with voting and the ability to join the military, comes at age 18. Or does it? You’re allowed to watch adult movies at 17. And kids can hold a job as young as 14, depending on state restrictions..." (Beck).

• I agree with this article because people who are 22-25 are already used to the choices you can make like vote, work full time, and drink alcohol while people who just turned 18, they aren't used to making smart decisions with all the new stuff they are allowed to do.

• Yes this article links to the novel Dear Martin because Justyce has to deal with people who are 18 years-old, and aren't used to all the things you can do along with Justyce.

• • In the article "50 Things You Can Do When You Turn 18 (Who Knew?)" by Lisa Heffernan the author lists off the things you can do when you turn 18. Lisa lists off lots of legal rights they gain when someone turns 18 years-old.
• "Turning 18 is a milestone for any young adult, from gaining legal rights and responsibilities to feeling a newfound sense of freedom and maturity. " (Heffernan)
• "While it’s an exciting time in any person’s life, it’s important to understand exactly what factors change when you turn 18 in order to establish yourself as a respected and valuable member of your community." (Heffernan)
• This article is very helpful for people who are turning 18 or are already 18 years of age. It is also helpful because it tells you what you are required to do at 18, like registering with the Selective Service  System within 30 days of turning 18.
• It links to Dear Martin because some of the things that people do are illegal and obviously not listed in the list because they are illegal and not allowed. Like when Officer Garret Tyson killed Manny.
