Educators will create and execute a plan to get students to make positive, socially responsible contributions, and take part in online communities in a responsible way. (Our own thoughts)

Example: As an educator, to meet this standard I will establish clear guidelines, use collaborative projects to encourage students to work online together, and provide positive feedback and opportunities for students to reflect on their online interactions and contributions.

Interpretation: Educators will show how to use technology in a beneficial and responsible way that teaches the students how to be a part of the digital world in a positive way. 

Interpretation- An educator has to be able to explain and understand the information they share with their students, evaluating resources includes looking at a source with a critical eye and making sure it is credible and applies to the work you are doing

An example would be applying the C.R.A.A.P test to any source you use

Interpretation: Educators will guide their students in a safe, legal, and ethical way

with digital resources and the content they are providing to their students. 

Example: Making sure that all students are supervised when using any kind of technology. Teachers could share expectations and model it for students.

Educators will provide a positive example to promote ways of organizing personal data, their digital identity, and protection over the student’s crucial information. ( Our own thoughts)

Example: As an educator, I will establish clear policies on data privacy and security, push my students to use strong passwords and multi-factor authentication for all online accounts used for educational purposes. I will also teach students about responsible online behavior, as well as model responsible data myself, so they have someone to follow after.
