the lasting legacy of westward expansion has many impacts one of them is the displacement of native American people and putting them in reservations leaving them with almost too little room to live. one more legacy it left behind was how many Americans had many more opportunities to get land and have more land for their families, causing the population to go up. another legacy is that it gave America a lot more land to work with and made out country bigger.

A lasting impact of early American history is slavery. For example, Frederick Douglass the “Father of the abolitionist movement." Helped free the slaves during the time of the Civil War. One more example and influential person was Sojourner Truth. She collaborated with Douglass on the abolition movement and received help from Douglass in leading women's civil rights. The final and lasting impact is freedom. An example of freedom in America is the Declaration of Independence. The Declaration of Independence was the “birth certificate of America” (7A). It preached the ideas of rights to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness” (7A).

Early US history left a long legacy of freedom and slavery. I have strong confidence in that the legacy of freedom should be protected and maintained. Because people myself included want the right to be free and be able to express and be themselves. I consider that a way we can achieve freedom is, by expressing ourselves and being unique, and act like our own unique selves. Freedom is important because no one likes living under constant entrapment and being told what to do. I strongly believe that the legacy of slavery should be re-written and changed it's wrong to believe that the only way we can achieve this is by everyone having equal rights. Stated by the US constitution it says that everyone has the equal right to “life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness". Not just equal rights.
