I know because in paragraph 1 it states “High standards better prepare students to be accepted into and succeed in college.” This means if the school offers a higher standard there is a better chance of getting into a good college.

I believe the author’s purpose in paragraph 4 is to get the students ready for the future. I know because it states in paragraph 4 that “By meeting these higher expectations, students learn to manage stress and use their time effectively.” This means that if the students were given higher expectations they will have to manage their studies on campus and off campus.
