Noted in this article is that crypto cybercrime and other financial related cybercrimes are both on the rise in general and targeting seniors more than ever. This could be due to a number of factors but overall stems from the elderly being an easier population to target and scam since they are less accustomed to the online world and may not have as many protections. The FBI has an initiative called "operation level up" that identifies and prevents crypto fraud. Initiatives such as this are vital for protecting vulnerable populations.

It includes quotes and parts of the interviews with the elderly individuals which provides a direct look into personal experiences. It also looks into ageism which is the concept of discrimination or stereotyping based on age. This reflects in cybercrime vulnerability because criminals are more likely to target the elderly since they are perceived to be less tech savvy or have less online protections. This also reflects in the tech world and overall online society since most online applications and uses aren't necessarily easy for the elderly to use or learn without help. However, if communities or tech companies can create new-user friendly applications or tutorials/classes this can ease the transition into the online world.
