Some animals would start to die immediately like plants because they rely on photosynthesis to survive. The food chain starts with plants so with no plants the whole ecosystem would slowly start to collapse. On top of this, the earth would start to dramatically get cooler so only animals that can tolerate the extreme cold would survive up to this point. After a while, everything would slowly start to die out and the earth would freeze. Our whole solar system revolves around the sun so earth while not immediately the earth would become a floating ice rock.
