As a way of innovating from the common and mostly used reading activities in which the students work alone, we wanted to create an activity which involved more discussion amongst the students, so they can work as a community and learn from their partners.

Moreover, various pair and group work based on readings provide students with chances to focus on form. Another benefit of these exercises is that the communication is often personally meaningful, especially when they are expressing their interpretations of texts and relating the text content to their own experiences. (Goodmacher & Kajiura, 2010)

Throughout the research for this entry, a fresh new activity popped out in one article, which was the READ2D, or read to discuss different activities, which are useful for motivating pairs to work together and improve their reading skills and critical thinking and social skills” (Goodmacher & Kajiura, 2010). And it consists of pairing students, them handing them 2 texts with some concepts that different. One of them starts reading the text and the other one reads silently and when  he/she hears the different word he/she has to say "stop!" and write down the word. At the end both of them have to decide on which word is the real original one. The focus of this activity is to discuss their ideas and come to an agreement based on the context of each word.

Moreover, the idea of creating activities where the students need to work in groups have been stuck with us throughout the semester. These collaborative reading activities can motivate students and lead to deeper thinking. As Gokhale (1995) explains, “The active exchange of ideas within small groups not only increases interest among the participants but also promotes critical thinking.”
