There  are no quick fixes in teaching , only meaningful efforts  to create conditions for learning. ( page 19 )

"Furthermore, by focusing excessively on top performers , schools neglect the vast a majority of students they are charged with educating ". ( page 15)

So What ? - I gathered from the text , the goal is to allow students to have agency  when learning and to also  not only focus on the highest performance but the students in the median as well.

Now what ? - I would like to apply this perspective in the near future. I would also l like to learn methods on how to do so.

This quote, caused me to reflect on how just as much educators make assumptions about how students make assumptions about me, I do the same as well. This quote resonates with me because we have to be mindful of the type of questioning that we plan in our lessons. I really resonated with the description of this routine and this quote in particular because they emphasize both the importance of student choice in the classroom, and of being flexible throughout classroom activities. Chapter 4 had an impact on my thinking by causing me to consider what routines along with questioning to help further my students' understanding.  The chapter also made me consider how I could foster an environment where students can feel unafraid to explore and question their thinking.
