         <description><![CDATA[<div>Constantine's father was made deputy to the emperor and moved to Eastern Europe. He received a proper education in Diocletian's court. He learned Latin, Greek and philosophy. In his life he was also there to witness the mass murder of Christians, he then said that he severely disliked Christians but his opinion would later change.<br><br>Diocletian started to become ill and one of his opponents, Galerius forced him to accept his allies. When Diocletian was giving a speech he said that he wanted Constantine and another person Maxentius to be his successors. He was ignored by Galerius.</div>]]></description>

After a night of drinking he agreed.<br><br>Constantine escaped to his father before morning came, he had ran to far to be caught and met his father and they took off to Britain for military purposes.</div>]]></description>

Constantine informed Galerius of his father's death and sent him a portrait of him wearing the robes of Augustus.<br><br>Constantine asked for acknowledgment as the heir to Constantius, he was told that he was forced upon the position and was denied.<br><br>Galerius was terribly angry when he found out about the portrait and his servants calmed him, he than gave him the title Caesar in compromise and sent him the purple robes that were worn by the Caeser.</div>]]></description>
