If I was presenting the content to my students to prepare them to compare and contrast I would use leveled text using resources like Reading AZ, ReadWorks, NewsELA to help students understand the strategy being taught.

Materials that I would use for comparing and contrasting to differentiate would be Get Epic. They have leveled text that students can read on the same topic such as fairytales. I would also provide different graphic organizers for students to present their similarities and differences in the stories.

I would use Braining Camp's virtual manipulatives to establish a
"concrete/representational" understanding of place value. I think I would also utilize Jamboard so we could compare & contrast different values via screenshots of our work from Braining Camp... For students who struggle with number order, I would use a virtual number line or virtual hundred chart. For advanced/proficient students, I would introduce greater place values. Proficient students could partner up and compare and contrast numbers that they can make using the same digits. (Example: 21,345 < 31,245)

I would use various manipulatives to differentiate instruction for understanding place value. Base ten block, Cuisenaire rods, money, drawings, etc. Starting from the concrete representation then making our way to abstract. Depending on students' abilities will determine what manipulatives they will use.

Some of the things that I include are components such as online videos, interactive read alouds, hands-on demonstrations to begin my lessons. I also have guided various performance tasks where students are able to work in the standard. For comparing and contrasting, we use Venn diagrams, Bubble Maps, T-Charts, Character Maps, Pictures, and more tools for students to use. Discussion are great for kids who love to share verbally as well.

I use vidoes, venn diagrama, double bubble thinking maps and more. I may start with something as simple as pictures of apples and oranges just to get students to start thinking of how they are alike and different. I love using paired text on readworks for students to compare and contrast the text.

Differentiated work would be a number chart 1-120:
For students that struggle with this I would include a number chart with about every other number missing so that they can see the pattern.
For students on or above grade level, I would still provide a number chart but theirs would have a big chunk of numbers missing.
First, I would model how to fill in the missing numbers.
I would also show a YouTube video on counting to 120.

Counting videos, Subitizing videos, and number talks are used to open lessons. We will use the interactive 100s chart to count and show patterns when counting. For practice students can choose their favorite manipulative to represent numbers. Some students will select their own numbers (ranges determined by me) while others will be given numbers to represent.

The Three Little Pigs and The True Story of the Three Little Pigs.
Both stories have the same characters yet, the adventures and experiences are different.
