I feel like they should feel like they're welcome and cared for by their residents.  We, Americans, should put in an effort to make the upcoming immigrants feel prepared for what is to come in America. That being said, I agree with Cameron about Americans making sure our immigrants are prepared for the environment they're  coming to.
