The core periphery model is a model which showcases the core area, which is the area of high development and investment, is usually the urban area where job opputunities and better standard of living is found, as well as the periphery, which is the area outside of the core region, usually representing the rural areas where development is low, and people usually move from periphery to core for better living.

Thailand fits to an extent as there are solid examples of vore regions such as Bangkok, Chonburi etc. but also peripheral regions such as Nan where development is not as matured. However there is also regions in Thailand that fit to neither of these regions

Core periphery model suggests that there's two group in development. Core is the group of countries/region that are more economically developed and 'exploit' the peripheral region's resources.

- More economically developed core, often exploiting the peripheral's resources
- Less ecomically developed peripheral, with a lower and only a small range jobs available

I think Thailand fits very closely to the model, Thailand has a single economically strong core with a high population density in its central regions. Similar to the model, the regions outside of the economically developed core, notably the North and North Eastern areas are much less developed. This is represented by the rural areas having significantly lower GDP per capita than the urban central.
