         <description><![CDATA[<div>Procedure is helpful with younger children, but it is not necessary for a lesson. I think having guidelines for the order of procedures is necessary, but adhering to these guidelines is not required. Often times, the students will reveal how the lesson should be changed to best suit where they are. Additionally, their reaction to the lesson can reveal if they need extra support of perhaps need more challenging work.</div>]]></description>

I also follow lots of teacher-grams (good example, Cynthia) who upload some of their lesson plan ideas &amp; I'm able to gain inspiration.          <description><![CDATA[<div>I think that yes, we need to follow certain aspects of curriculum that pertain to staar, but it doesn't have to exactly be what is on the test rather than how the test is structured. If the staar uses a certain testing strategy, use the strategy but make the lesson engaging and fun and something you can use to expose them to the format while not using their curriculum.</div>]]></description>

Additionally, having different variations of the lesson to make it longer or shorter is important. Teachers can predict how their students will work within a lesson, but they will not truly know until the lesson begins.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Ariana says: Once I got a feel for my students and the pace they work I was able to see what was doable during our time and what wasn't. The first few lesson plans that we did were often continuations because we were over planning and couldn't finish in our time. Another thing was realizing how fast the time flies! Getting used to that also helps you look at your lesson plans differently.</div>]]></description>
