The civil rights movement started because of many different reasons. One was one Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat for a white man. Another reason it started was to fight against the unjust Jim Crow laws. The Jim Crow laws were laws that segregated whites from blacks. Martin Luther King Jr. was a very important man in the Civil Rights Movement. He led many marches promoting Equality. For one, the civil rights movement fought against the Jim Crow laws which had taken away equality in the public for blacks. CRM helped change that. Many people tried to fight against Racism. Martin Luther King and many others helped fight to end the discrimination. This payed off when in 1964 the U.S supreme court ruled that the government should desegregate America. For one the if dreams part could mean many things. One is that if the dream of equality is forgotten, we might not ever get it back. Then life might be able to "fly" again like the poem says. Another meaning is that the dream of freedom for black people. For example the guy that Kevin Costner plays scene with ladies restroom. He removes the sign due to Katherine complaining about which Katherines confidence came from other Powerful Black Leaders. Hidden Figures shows the future we have if CRM works. These ladies are living such a happy and sucessful life for themselves.
