I like to put out a basket of snacks and drinks for my delivery people each year as a thank you for their hard work. Yesterday I stocked up on some of their favorites- gatorade and meat sticks- and proudly put them on the porch this morning for them. I love to see them on the Ring doorcam as they choose a few treats to enjoy.

Turning Negatives Into Positives

I have a coworker who has bad gas. Instead of letting this gas have a detrimental effect on my day I simply use this coworker's particularly potent flatulence as a chance to spread kindness. Live in the moment and be present! Life is not about what happens to you but how you react to it!

My go-to strategy:

1) When the flatulence is released I try to take as big of a whiff as possible. This way my coworker knows I am fully present.

2) After letting the flatulence sit on my palate for a bit I try to guess what my coworker has recently been consuming. Showing an interest in people and their lives builds stronger relationships.

3) If the moment is right, I try to release my own flatulence in a show of solidarity. Sphincter secretions are nothing to be ashamed about.

4) Finally, I always try to have a nice thing or two to say about the most recent odor. Feedback is best when it is immediate and specific. For example, I might say something like, "I like the garlicky tang today!" Instead of something generic like, "Nice fart bro."
