We did not consider our quality of life in Auckland to be fulfilling as we spent so much time stuck in traffic and winter travelling to Mt Ruapehu with our young son became so difficult. I completed my study but didnt feel like it was what I wanted to do everyday (work in a dark workshop everyday) so I pursued management. 

The risk was whether I would be successful or not in applying myself to the role.
