First you MOVE the smaller variable to the larger variable's side. Add or subtract depending. In this case, the 6n was larger, so I subtracted 3n from both sides. Then rewrite the problem leaving you with a 2-step equation. Next you undo the addition by doing the opposite and subtract 20 from both sides. This leaves you with 3n = -15. Finally, you divide both sides by 3 in order to isolate the n leaving you with n = -5.

First, you would look at the problem to help you decided where you would begin. In this problem, I noticed that in DCMAM, there was no distributing or combining like terms. That would mean that I would begin with moving the smaller variable to the other side of the equation. 2n is smaller than 4n. So I subtracted 2n from both sides of the equation. 2n-2n would cancel, and 4n-2n=2n. The next step would be to add or subtract. The 2n has to be left alone on the right side, so you would subtract 10 from both sides of the equation. This would then leave the equation as 24=2n. The last step would then be to multiply or divided. In this problem, the 2 would have to be divided from both sides of the equation. Leaving the final answer as 12=n.

First thing I'd do is write D, C, M, A, M at the corner of your paper. This stands for Distribute, Combine like terms, Move variable, Add/Subtract, Multiply/Divide. A way of remembering this is "Don't Call Me After Midnight''. First we are going to start off with our D which is Distribute. There is nothing to distribute so we're going to move the smaller variable to the larger variable's side. In this problem 6n is larger so I subtracted 3n from both sides. After you do that you should rewrite the problem so that you will be left with a 2 step equation. From there you would subtract 20 from both sides because 20-20 cancels out to 0 and whatever you do to one side you must do to the other. This leaves you with 3n=15. The last thing you do is divide both sides by 3. As you can see when I divided 3n by 3 that left N all by itself so when I divide 3 by the other side it leaves me with the answer.

The first step is to subtract 7n from 2n because you can only have one variable. On both sides then you should get 5n after that you bring everything from the first line down and subtract 25 from 10 because you have to do the opposite. You have to subtract 10 on both sides to the answer would be 15 on the other side you have to get rid of the 5n so you divide 5 from both sides and 15 divided by 5 would be 3 so the answer to the whole problem would be n=3.

First step is you take the smaller variable and subtract it with your second variable so you only have one variable. then rewrite you equation so you can keep solving. 34=2n+10. then take your 10 and subtract it from 10 to get rid of 10 and subtract it from 34. when you rewrite it you get 24=2n. then take you 2 and divide from both side canceling out your 2 and dividing 24/2 and you come out with your answer 12=n.
