It would be nice to have better routes to connect with NHS and public sector partners. Research funders are often very narrow (NHS only, business only, academic only) with not enough collaboration.

Codesign with them. Show they can target joint grant calls. Reduce the participation risks to get involved.

Have dedicated grant writers within the NHS/academia/public services

Grant applications are way more successful with public sector partners, but they take a lot of effort to put together and industry often ends up writing them (or paying a professional grant writer, where the company has to take the hit).

I've never been asked to participate, perhaps I'm not looking in the right places or perhaps I'm not the right demographic, but it seems that getting the message out to people that can participate is not getting through?

The problem here is trying to bring together two of the most inefficient services in the UK. Healthcare and Education.
