Problem?- People were losing their homes, people couldn’t buy homes due to the upfront costs.

Who did it help?- War veterans and their families.

How did it help?- They provided mortgage insurance on loans to help people by homes.

Effective?- Yes, it helped people afford houses and is still used today.

How did it help? - It taught many people better farming methods, replanting trees, and building dams.

Problem- People lost their jobs so there were many unemployed workers.  

 

Who did it help- Mostly men with no education and unemployed workers.  

 

How did it help? - It gave unskilled workers jobs and provided income for millions of Americans. They also built schools to educate these men.  

 

Was it effective? – Yes, by the time it shut down in June 1943 it had provided jobs for many Americans and the unemployment rate was at less than 2%. 

 

Problem? It was designed to decrease unemployment and increase purchasing power through the construction of highways and public buildings. 

Who did it help? The unemployed 

How did it help?  It helped restore the economy by building large scale public works like schools, dams, hospitals, etc. This also allowed more people employment. 

Effective? No, even though they were in some ways successful, they did not reach their goal in economic growth. It was considered a major failure.
