Overall I really enjoyed reading Ratliff's book, and looking at music from a different perspective. It was interesting to me to look at music through a different lens. I also learned quite a lot just from doing padlets over all the chapters. Ratliff describes musical elements in a very unique way, that really makes the reader think. The only thing i found problematic would be that sometimes he would lose me while describing certain elements. Besides that I would have zero complaints with this book. I have noticed that since reading this book, I have began listening to music differently. I now would say that I pay more attention to the little details in music, and have also enjoyed music more in general. Overall I am glad to have read this book because it has had a positive impact on my music listening, and Im sure ill remember this information for a long time.
