Today, I cleaned the AQ08 fish tank to keep it looking fresh. I scrubbed the glass to remove algae, cleaned the decorations, and rinsed the water filter. After finishing with the tank, I fed Princess, our axolotl, in his own tank. He happily ate his food. Now the AQ08 tank looks great, and Princess is well-fed and content in his clean home!

Tank: Stickleback (Coldwater)
Today I checked the stickleback tank. I used a liquid test kit to test the pH, which was slightly low, so I added a small amount of pH buffer to bring it closer to neutral. I used a water siphon to remove about 25% of the water and replaced it with clean, treated water. I wiped algae off the glass with a sponge. I fed them bloodworms and watched their behaviour – they were active and swimming well. I wore gloves for safety while working with the water and equipment.

Tank: Saltwater (Angelfish & Clownfish)
Today I worked on the saltwater tank with both clownfish and angelfish. I used the salt tester to check salinity – it was a bit low, so I added some marine salt to bring it back up to 1.024. I tested ammonia and nitrite using liquid kits – both were at safe levels. I used the siphon to remove 30% of the water. I cleaned the protein skimmer and rinsed the filter sponge in old tank water. I fed the fish brine shrimp and observed them – they were feeding well and looked healthy. I wore gloves during the whole process.

Tank: Axolotl
Today I did maintenance on the axolotl tank. The water quality was tested using the liquid kit – all levels were safe. I used the siphon to do a 20% water change and carefully removed any waste from the bottom. Since the tank doesn’t have gravel, it was easier to clean. I fed the axolotl earthworms and watched its behaviour – it was calm and healthy. I wore gloves to protect both the axolotl and myself while handling tank equipment.

Tank: Saltwater (Angelfish & Clownfish)
The saltwater tank looked cloudy today. I tested the water and found ammonia levels were high (around 1ppm). I used the siphon to remove about 40% of the water and added new saltwater. I also cleaned the filter sponge more thoroughly and added activated carbon to help clear the water. The fish were a bit sluggish at first but looked better by the end of the day. I wore gloves while doing all the tasks to stay safe.

Tank: Stickleback
I cleaned the stickleback tank again today. I tested the water and found nitrate was low, which is a good sign. I used the siphon to remove 25% of the water and cleaned part of the filter. I also wiped algae off the inside glass. I added a few more fake plants to provide extra hiding spaces. The sticklebacks were active and feeding well on bloodworms. I used gloves to protect my hands and avoid contaminating the water.

Tank: Axolotl
Today I checked the axolotl tank. The water felt warmer than usual, so I checked the temperature and added a sealed frozen bottle to cool it down gently. I used the liquid test kit and all results were normal. I did a small water change with the siphon, removing uneaten food and some waste. I fed the axolotl its usual earthworms. It seemed alert and healthy. I wore gloves for hygiene and safety reasons.

Tank: Saltwater (Angelfish & Clownfish)
Today I did general maintenance on the saltwater tank. Salinity was fine, and nitrates were slightly high, so I removed 35% of the water using the siphon and replaced it with clean saltwater. I cleaned the protein skimmer, wiped down the inside glass with a magnetic cleaner, and checked the heater. I fed the fish brine shrimp, and both species were feeding well. I wore gloves while working to make sure everything stayed clean and safe.
