*He then married Julia Gardiner in 1844 becoming the first president to be married while in office

*He had 8 children with his first wife and 7 children with his second for a total of 15! More children than any other president!

*John Tyler was a lawyer

*at age 21 he was not happy beinga lawyer so he became a politian in the house of delegates

*his religon was Episcopalian

*John Tyler joined the wig party

*John was a state legislator, governor, us representative, and a us senator

*He died January 18th 1862 in Richmond, VA

*he was the first president to get moved up from vice president to president after Harrison died

* he was nicknamed "accidency"

*opposed the whig party

*opposed federal aid for business, against improving roads and canals , also against a tax on imports that would of helped american industries

*Whigs called him "Old Veto", in 1845 congress overrode a veto for the first time in history

*just before john left office he was remembered for bringing Texas into the union after signing a congresanal resilotion.

*he had some success with foreign policy helped define the border between Canada and America

*people did not like him so he didn't run for a second term as president
