         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Teaching Development Fellows Network</strong></p><p><br>The Teaching Development Fellows Network (TDFN) is a professional development and leadership opportunity for graduate students who are interested in improving their teaching while promoting pedagogical development and discussion among their peers. Fellows organize and direct department-based events. They also develop resources aimed at developing TA’s teaching skills in their home department with support from TLL and an interdisciplinary network of fellows.</p><p><br></p><ol><li><p><strong>Departmental Focus</strong>: Teaching Development Fellows address specific teaching needs within their departments by identifying and designing suitable programming.</p></li><li><p><strong>Project Design</strong>: Each semester, fellows complete two departmental projects, which may include workshops on pedagogical concepts, training for new TAs, or events that promote collaborative teaching cultures.</p></li><li><p><strong>Additional Training</strong>: Fellows receive further training from TLL on workshop design and the scholarship of teaching and learning by enrolling in a 2-credit course during the fall and spring semesters.</p></li><li><p><strong>Collaboration Opportunities</strong>: They can collaborate with peers across the Institute, assist in TA Days programming, meet regularly to discuss teaching topics, and observe fellow programs.</p></li><li><p><strong>Time Commitment and Support</strong>: Fellows are expected to dedicate 8-10 hours per month from August to May, receiving a stipend of $2,100 from their departments, with additional positions available through TLL.</p></li></ol>]]></description>

It fosters the development of comprehensive teaching proficiency at all stages and levels of the academic career by covering important topics in higher education. The variety of topics is based on a model of thematic fields in higher education.</p><p>“didactica” courses are free of charge for staff and teaching faculty at ETH Zurich and the University of Zurich. Members of other accredited Swiss higher education institutions pay a fee of CHF 200.00 per half day.</p>]]></description>

It supports education development whilst sharing and recognising best practice across UCL.</strong></p><p>This&nbsp;programme is for <strong>all staff who teach and support students' learning, </strong>aimed at <strong>improving the quality of teaching </strong>across the institution, and sharing and <strong>recognising best practice.</strong></p><p>This includes:</p><ul><li><p>Mandatory courses for PGTAs, new lecturers and supervisors</p></li><li><p>Optional courses and workshops for all staff, with some targeted at specific roles, such as Personal Academic Tutors, professional services colleagues, postdocs and education leaders</p></li><li><p>A wide range of online courses and resources designed at supporting all areas of educational practice.</p></li></ul><p>The Arena Centre's workshops, courses and resources all support staff who wish to be professionally recognised for their educational practice through our Advance HE-accredited Arena Fellowship scheme.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>]]></description>
