Today I come to talk about my Montería. It is a city with outstanding urban, commercial and road development, and also known as the City of Swallows. It is the cattle capital of Colombia. This land with one of the most fertile valleys in the world has had an agricultural vocation since its inception.

The main crops are traditional corn, technical corn, cotton, sorghum, manual dry rice, mechanized dry rice, irrigated rice, cassava, plantain and yam. Montería has a school of fine arts as well as possibilities for artistic training at the university level. In addition, several personalities from the world of Colombian cinema and television are natives of Montería such as Ronald Ayazo, Adriana Ricardo and the filmmaker Agamenón Quintero.

During the Livestock Fair that takes place mid-year, you can enjoy a variety of cultural activities that include parades, dances organized by local clubs, and night programs at the city's entertainment venues.

Another cultural option are exhibitions, concerts and plays organized either by the house of culture or by local businessmen.

The main tourist attraction of Montería is the Primera o Veinte de Julio avenue, parallel to the Sinú river, where the largest linear park in Latin America is located, the Ronda del Sinú, from which you can appreciate the Sinú river that has inspired many poets, painters and artists of the region. Full of lights, color and various buildings, Primera Avenue offers a space for culture and fun. From there, it is possible to appreciate the wild animals of the park. You can also appreciate the Ronda Norte (an extension of the Ronda del Sinú) that is located on the banks of the river, next to the El Recreo neighborhood.

Montería has a sheet that has several kilometers to the east of the city, where you can see a flat landscape. This savannah has a lake known as Coveñitas which was formed by the extraction of rock.
