sergeant- they give briefs to constables and tell others what to do. they also complete police tasks.
inspector- there will be one on each shift.
chief inspector- does the day to day running of the shift.
superintendent- one for north and one for south.
chief superintendent- makes sure superintendents are doing their job correctly.
assistant chief constable- sorts out specialist units.
deputy chief constable- makes sure below ranks are doing their jobs

staff sergeant- tells sergeant what jobs need to be done and admit.
sergeant major- in charge of everything.

The firefighters dealing with this incident had to have specialist skills in some way to get it under control. More then 200 fire fighters and 40 fire engines responded to this fire as the 24 storey building was quickly catching fire. Firefighters were supposedly only able to reach the 12th floor of the fire. Firefighters were commanded to go to the big incident and were carrying 30kg of equipment as well as their fire kit and breathing apparatus. the firefighters were then sent up the stairs of the building in attempt to save people from the fire. Firefighters had to use their specialist skills and communication to get to people through the flames and smoke while they couldn't see anything in front of them. while doing this they also had to make decisions about where is safe for people to go while saving those they can as it was unsafe to go that far up the building while the air was toxic and may not have enough air. Dany Cotton the fire commissioner will also have to have specialist skills to be able to tell the firefighters what they need to do and which situations have priority over others and to motivate the firefighters to risk their lives to save others.
