I connected to this book because Salva and I have lots of struggles in life. When he was walking for days without food or water, he almost died. I was without water for 1 week and 2 days out camping in the woods and I passed out when my parents and I were on a hike.

I would recommend this book to readers who like action and adventure. This story takes place in war and poverty. It is an inspiring story. It teaches people to be thankful for what they have. People in India or Sudan, where Salva lives, don't have a lot of food, shelter, or water. People are starting to put water holes in the ground so the people in Sudan can have fresh water.

As a reader I connect to this story because my aunt is sometimes a Scrooge. When Scrooge says he isn't going to his nephew's house. On Christmas every year, my Aunt Denise gets mad at one of her sisters or my Grandma and doesn't come to the Christmas feast. Maybe this year she will.

I would recommend this book to people who just like reading and want to read something interesting. This book has a lot of action and has many feeling involved such as sadness, angry, mad, forgiving, embarrassed and love. This is a memorable book for people all ages. I guarantee you will like this book.

I connect with this book because Hayley has a lot of issues and problems in her life. Also, she has some memories that she will never forget. So do I. The worst memory I have was the day my sister died. We were very close and we used to spend time together all the time. The other painful memory is when my mom and stepdad got a divorce. I was very close with him also. We would go to the movies and go out to dinner. I miss him very much.

I recommend this book to people who like interesting and tragic books. This book is heartwarming and will make you feel. It is full with life advice and will help give another look at memories. I believe that you will really like this book.
