O’Brien says that Bobo’s testimony really hurt them and that she needs to find a way to separate Steve from King. Steve is nervous. Moore is on stand. Briggs questions King’s cousin. She says that King comes by sometimes and that the day of the robbery, he went by to give her a lamp he bought. He has no job, but he paid it. Petrocelli is convinced that it’s a lie. Nipping is now on stage. He has known King for about 17-18 years. He says that King is left-handed, because as a kid, he had a left-handed baseball glove. O’Brien wants Steve to go on stage to be more convincing. She plays a little game. Every time he’s responds to a question, she will let the cup facing up if she likes his answers, but if she doesn’t like what Steve responds, she will put the cup facing down. They practice a little and then Steve is on stage. He tells about his relationship with the people involved with the robbery. He says he acquainted with everyone. He’s not their friends. After it’s Mr. Sawicki’s turn. He’s known Steve for 3 years because of a film club. He says that Steve is a good person and that he’s always honest. He says that Steve couldn’t be part of the robbery because he was taking mental notes for his film project. Briggs does her final speech. She explains that King wasn’t in the drugstore and Miss Henry made a mistake. She tells other reasons why he’s not guilty. Now O’Brien gives her final speech. She explains that just because Steve say Bobo in the streets, it doesn’t mean he’s guilty, because thousands of people see’s Bobo in the streets. The State never mentioned a conversation of Steve and Bobo about the robbery. Steve couldn’t of been the look out, because the store wasn’t clear, so he didn’t do his job, Bobo only understood that Steve was the look out, so he wasn’t sure and Steve didn’t give a single signal. Mr. Evans also said that he took a quick bite only with King, not Steve. Now Petrocelli gives her final opinion. She thinks that King is guilty. Now they need to wait for the jury to have a verdict. Steve is very scared, but King stays relax. When they had a verdict, the final decision is Steve is not-guilty and King is guilty. He gets handcuffed and was sent to jail for 25 years. Steve’s parents are happy, but his father is not sure who he is anymore. He doesn’t even know how his son knows people like Osvaldo, Bobo and King. After O’Brien won, Stev tries to hug her, but she stays away. She still thinks Steve is guilty.
