This was a very enlightening experience and an opportunity to learn from Academics around the UK, about good practices that has allowed for more informed learning and overall student experience. Of all the presenters, I resonated the most with Dr. Beth Pickard of the University of South Wales. She gave a brilliant presentation on "The Hierarchy of Knowledge in Higher Education: Privileging the Expertise of Disabled People
Through Social Confluence"

This sparked a valid conversation around the subject of inclusivity and how it is integral in today's very diverse learning environment. Beth's publication identified that

"Academics with chronic illness, disabilities or
neurodiversity are practically unseen and starkly
under-represented in comparison to students with
disabilities or disabled people in the general public "
(Brown and Leigh 2018).
