Gandhi and thousands of other Indians went to Dandi to collect natural salt. Many Indians, including Gandhi, were arrested by the British. This is significant to India because it showed the British that India's power could not be ignored

https://www.britannica.com/topic/Opium-Wars

The Opium Wars were two wars that were fought between China and Great Britain. This started because China did not want to trade with Great Britain, so Britain decided to smuggle opium, an addictive drug, into China. Britain created millions of opium addicts in China and the Chinese asked them to stop. Great Britain ignored their pleads and continued selling opium until a war broke out. After Great Britain won the wars, they imposed many unfair treaties in China and made them a large sum of money. The treaties that were signed made China a place that many countries can trade at today.
