For an English project, four students are assigned to create a presentation. Two students, Chloe and Ben, take on most of the research and slide creation. Majority of our team chooses to tell the truth- because if we chose to lie, we would break the mom's trust and she would presume that we're a bad influence to her child, tolerating their behavior. On the other hand, if we actually inform the mom, it would enhance our behavior and actions on how we deal with our own friends' decisions.

The conflict our group came to when reading this was to mainly meet in the middle. What we mean by this is that the people take a vote at first, propose their ideas, and the one with the most votes would be the one they choose. However, if the vote ties, then they would find other topics related to the ones that tied, and it should be a connected topic so that both parts of the team decide to vote on one.

It’s a tough decision because I want to be loyal to my friend but also honest with her mom. If I were to keep the lie, I protect my friend’s trust but risk getting caught later. If I tell the truth, I stay honest but might lose my friend’s trust. So a better choice is to stay neutral, don’t add to the lie, but don’t reveal her secret either

Chloe and Ben should tell Alex and Maya that it wouldn’t be fair to add their names since they didn’t help with the work. If Alex and Maya really want to contribute, they can be given a small last minute task, but if they refuse to help even then, Chloe and Ben should explain the situation honestly to the teacher so that the effort and credit go to those who actually worked on the project.

I think revoking immigrant workers’ privileges creates more problems than it solves. Governments do have the right to set immigration rules and protect jobs for citizens, especially that there are many jobs that often struggle to find enough U.S. workers. A better approach would be to strengthen border and immigration systems while still giving people who are already here, contributing to the economy, a fair path to work legally.

It’s always important to resolve conflicts, especially with your loved ones because healthy relationships are always important in life. Because if you have unresolved conflicts, it can create stress, anxiety and can make your problems bigger. When you resolve conflicts, you can actually understand that person more and rebuild trust. Some people choose not to resolve their conflicts because they may feel insecure or uncomfortable talking about it. They might also just have negative feelings or other strong emotions that prevent them from expressing themselves when trying to solve conflicts.

Honestly, we think taking away privileges from immigrant workers isn’t fair. A lot of them come to the U.S. to work hard, support their families, and even help the country’s economy. If their rights or opportunities are taken away, it could hurt both the workers and the businesses that depend on them. As a group, we decided to not put the names of Alex and Maya for the project and kindly decline their request for the slides. It is completely unreasonable and unfair for Chloe and Ben since these two are the people who worked on the project without receiving any help from Alex and Maya. Chloe and Ben should report this to the teacher as Alex and Maya does not deserve the amount of credit that Chloe and Ben receives.

It would cause more conflict as immigrant workers goes to the U.S to support themselves and their families. Taking away their privileges would also cause problem to the economy as there is already a large amount of immigrant workers working in the U.S. It is important to let immigrant workers continue working in the U.S with their privileges so they have the opportunity to live on a better life under a fair system.

After reading the text, We think that both Chloe and Ben had the right to feel frustrated. After all, Alex and Maya did nothing to contribute to the group. Chloe and Ben already reminded them so many times, yet Alex and Maya still didn't follow through. The best solution is to tell the teacher and inform them about their lack of participation for the task.

Conflicts will always exist. You can never escape conflicts. Conflicts are not necessarily bad, but not all of them are good either! Everyone has different opinions, and they have different point of views, which can lead to conflicts. These conflicts can be big or small, but at the end of day, it is always important to fix them.

The reason why people chose not to solve or resolve their conflicts might be because they don't want to be involved anymore, or it might be because they're too busy to fix conflicts. Either way, conflicts can be solved, but conflicts can never be escaped.
