         <title>Describe the Big6/Super3</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Big 6 is the tool to use in solving problems or make decisions utilizing information.  It is created by Mike Eisenberg, Dean Emeretus and professor at the Information School of the University of Washington in Seattle, Wa. It is a six-step process that will help you identify, seek, use, gather, analyze then reflect or review the final product in order to determine the effectiveness of the process.  It allows the user to follow the step by step process on how to effectively and efficiently search and collect credible information.<br>Meanwhile, the Super 3 is the simplified version of the Big 6. It is geared toward younger students. and is more user friendly.  Steps from the Big 6 are combined in order to make Super 3, but both methods end with reflection and evaluation. <br>The military has something similar when it comes to gathering information; we call it the "Intelligence Cycle."  There are 5 steps involved:<br>- Planning and direction<br>- Collection<br>- Processing<br>- Analysis and production<br>- Dissemination<br>I will not go into detail on how each step is carried out but I can assure you that it is comprehensive.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This is a good question.  I will have to master both methods before I can even attempt to teach information literacy skills to my students.  Once I am comfortable with utilizing both methods, then I can honestly answer this question. </div>]]></description>
