As a future math teacher, I will ensure to integrate technology into my lesson plans. I will use technology to encourage my students to get involved during the lesson and in assignments. Using simulations and models during the teacher discussion will allow my students to see connections with topics that may be hard to visualize without it. For example, in geometry, I can use a simulator to help students visualize how 3-D shapes are constructed and see the final product. Another method of technology is virtual manipulatives, which can be used in an experimental activity such as learning the relationship between fractions, percents, and decimals. Using social media is also helpful because I could assign a homework that requires students to respond to a question that I posted regarding an objective we discussed. Lastly, technology can help better assess student achievement on quizzes, tests, or homework by seeing how long it took them to complete it or what question was missed the most so that it can be reviewed, next class.

In the classes I will be teaching, I have put in different activities that will use technology. In my horticulture 2 class, they have to learn a number of plants. For plant identification, I will allow students to use their phone to take pictures of the plant. Students will have to make a powerpoint with the plants, characteristics of the plants, and it has to have pictures of the plants. Also, high school students love playing the Kahoot game. Students will have to use their phones to be able to play this game.

I will include technology in my classroom by using some learning activities on the I pad for the students to use. They will be able to watch videos and songs on the I pad. I will include this in my lesson plans. They will also be able to go to kids YouTube to listen to music relating to numbers and the alphabet. I think including technology in the classroom is awesome.

I will be teaching High School Agricultural Education classes; and the majority of students will have access to technology, especially cell phones! During certain classes students will have the chance to use technology; I could implement a bell ringer that will allow my students to send in their answer using their cellphones and I can receive those answers electronically and record their grade for that assignment. I mostly would like to teach Horticulture and this would require students to remember plants and to know how to properly care for the plants that they are learning. While doing this they can google search on their phones what these plants look like (in addition to a PowerPoint), what type of light these plants like, how much water to give them and what season will they grow best in. This will be very beneficial to the students since they can rely on an outside source other than a PowerPoint; they will learn research strategies that will benefit them later on when they attend colleges or Uni's.

Technology is a major part of my students daily activities. My school uses technology during our general instruction times. Each student has an iPad. They use their devices to complete assignments, complete test, practice reading fluency, math fluency, learning stations, research projects, and document their findings. This allows for the students to be actively engaged but also work at their own pace. These devices give them instant feedback which motives the students to keep trying.

I also use my devices; iPad, Macbook, and apple tv during instruction. I use the devices for data collection, administering test, and progress monitoring.

I note this on my lesson plans to justify why I am using my phone during instructional time.

Children learn through play, songs, and prepetition, for example, playing songs on a CD player or the computer. Through this they are learning language and rhythm. With the use of a write board they are learning to use writing utensils, draw pictures, and make predictions, such as, what could, what would, and what did happen. An IPad provides opportunities for students to learn through education games like ABC Mouse or Starfall, these games can be played independently or with the help of a teacher.

I try to incorporate technology into every lesson because students LOVE technology and are so advanced with it comes to electronic devices. I like to incorporate YOUTUBE videos with either a warm-up dance that goes hand in hand with the lesson of the day or a review for the day before. I also have notice that a lot of schools use iPads now. There are a lot of educational apps that teachers use and also a lot of educational websites with tests that students can access via online and the teacher can actually grade them with their scores they make. Technology keeps the students engaged at all ages.

For morning meetings we use technology for the letter of the week. We watch a video and reenact the sounds of the letter we are studying. During music/dance time we use technology for our dance time most of out music is played on the Ipad and we watch following the directions songs where the students can copy the moves and movement. In the learning centers we have a tech center in the classroom. It includes two Ipads and headphones. The Ipad is equipped with learning activities and games that the students pick from . They are able to rotate in and out of the center during our free play time. These are the ways we utilize technology in the classroom.

I have many ESL students so I want to make sure they get different forms of instruction to ensure academic success. The math lesson I teach have a interactive lesson that goes along with the GO Math I use that I display on the Promethean board. I also use you tube videos to show songs that go along with the lesson that I show on the Promethean board. I use Flocabulary as well as math antics to enhance instruction. During science I use Bill Nye and other videos to show examples about the lesson being taught. We have a limited amount of IPADS for students to use. We do have access to the computer lab to use for Classworks, Big Brainz, Cool Math, ABCYA, for math supplements in instruction. My ESL students use Imagine Learning to help them build their reading skills. I wish all my students could have Ipads. Technology enhances and reinforces instruction. I also use class dojo on my phone for behavior reinforcement and communication with parents.

I Currently work as a Pre-k teacher. I plan to move up to kindergarten when I graduate in December. We live in a time where everyone is dependent on some form of technology. Because of that, I think that it is important to incorporate technology in my classroom. A wonderful way I incorporate technology, is by allowing children time during computer center to navigate through letter land. Letter land is a fun interesting creative way for children to learn their alphabet, letter recognition, letter sounds and actions. The children are given about 15 minutes to navigate through letter land, and during this time they can choose various activities to do. I think by giving children exposure to this type of technology, I am given the another opportunity to learn something.

Technology for Higher Student Involvement (Eric Snoddy)

The important thing to remember about technology is that we have never had more powerful tools in the history of mankind that are able to increase our productivity--intellectual and otherwise-- by so much. Thus, when we discuss the topic of technology in the classroom and how we can use it to involve student learning, we are talking about a topic that is so vast, in which the options are so manifold, that it is important to narrow down exactly what we are trying to say. Technology can be used for good or for ill. One of the biggest obstacles that educators will have in the short-term is a problem of discernment, i.e., how do we know which technologies will be most beneficial, and should we always be on the lookout for the next big thing, or are there still some more traditional and "old fashioned" methods of instruction that still work great for student involvement when these methods are implemented in today's environment. When you look at Gardner's research on multiple intelligences, or other research that talks about differences in learning styles, it causes one to think that our instruction should be varied and that we should indeed incorporate all different types of technology that can be used to cater to the strengths of individual students, thereby giving them a solid opportunity to make progress and learn content in their own way. However, one should not forget that tech is also big business, and that it may not actually always be in the school system's best interest to simply follow the leader when it comes to technology. Always ask the question: technology for what purpose? What purpose does this tech serve? Will it improve instruction, or is it simply going to lessen human to human interaction? Is a lessening of human to human interaction perhaps one of the variables responsible for the social and psychological problems that are on the increase in this country?

I believe that technology should be used for the purpose of increasing student involvement, but with discretion, and never at the expense of human to human interaction. There are so many things that can be used for the variety of intelligences and learning styles discussed. There are youtube videos for visual and aural learners, there is no shortage of diagrams that can be found for those who are more visual. Essentially at our fingertips there is an explanation of a teaching concept for virtually every type of learning style/intelligence. However, the onus is on the teacher to use these technologies responsibly, always making sure that the content is of high quality (thus exercising skills of discernment) and that technology does not grow to replace our all-to-essential human interactions with each other. Online platforms such as this is yet another example of how modern technology can be used. It is literally all around us. It can be a good thing because we are able to disseminate information and interact with each other at the speed of light no matter where the students and teachers are located. It can be bad, however, if we are totally consumed by it.

Today, technology is constantly a part of students’ lives. Technology is truly a fast moving train, and there is no stopping it. As a result, teachers must get on board, and find creative ways to use it in the classroom. Students love technology, so it only makes sense for teachers to try to use it to further involve student learning. Using technology in the classroom changes the original (stereotypical) student-teacher relationship because it allows for students to assume active, involved roles in their own learning. Through teachers’ use of technology, students can control how they access information, and how they use that information to learn. A great example of this could be in regards to a research project, where all students are involved in their independent research, taking control of their education, and the projects output.

Using technology in the classroom can be very useful to keep students engaged, and to help them learn in ways that they are accustomed to in this day and age. Using YouTube series like Crash Course, and other educational videos can really enhance lessons. Using online forums like Padlet can make submitting homework and engaging in discussions a lot easier, especially if there are students who do not prefer to talk in class. Using online in-class activities like Kahoot will help to keep students interested and keep the learning fun. Having them make Weeblys or Prezis for assignments will break up the mundanity of writing papers or making power points. Class Dojo works to regulate bad behavior and reward good behavior. Incorporating music into the lessons is also helpful for remembering information. Catchy lyrics will get stuck in their heads and will be easy to retrieve during tests. All of these different resources can and should be utilized to greatly enhance the educational experience, and to help the students have fun while they’re learning.

Technology is my best friend in my classroom. I am a 1 to 1 classroom and honestly I have no idea how I have ever worked in a classroom without it. We use google classroom every day. I use it for exit tickets, small group discussion, read and response, writing prompts, test bank questions, and even test at the end of a math or ELA unit. and for those that don't know, a google form WILL GRADE THE TEST FOR YOU! Yes, I know, like I said my best friend. I use technology for learning and for reward. In my guided math technology is used at the "math time" station and they use a couple different programs like Prodigy, Moby Max, Math Time , SumDog, and Study Island. SumDog and Prodigy are the biggest because they get to battle against friends through math problems. I use technology in my ELA, writers workshop, and science. We use STEMScopes for science and they love it and so do I because everything is there for me. I also use teacher tube and youtube a lot of time. FLocaublary is AWESOME!! It gives songs/raps that they kids catch on to very easily. Spelling City is anther great use of technology for spelling words and weekly tests. I absolutely love my technology and we use very often in class. My biggest issue in this is that we are switching to technology for the EOGs and my students are terrified, they hate reading on the computer but I am using read words, red theory, and epic to hopefully help with this!

Before I teach a lesson, we usually build background knowledge and discuss what we already know as a class/what we will be learning about throughout the lesson. After our discussion, I gather students to their carpet squares and we watch a YouTube video. These kindergarten students brains and thought processes are actively involved once they see a character they're familiar with, a song they want to sing along to, or being able to laugh at something funny. Technology is a great resource in the classroom because it's not always the teachers responsibilty to know every single answer to every question out there in the world, which is great why there's search engines such as Google. This would particularly be beneficial in science classrooms. I can imagine a science teacher answering a students question like, "Hmm.. I'm not sure about what that, let's look into it." - the students then have a sense of curiousity and are ready to research and discover new information together as a class. There are so many interactive math games, sing along videos, and great step by step, exemplary videos among various subjects and grade levels. Technology also gives the students a fresh new source to gain information and exposure from, so their lessons aren't always worksheets or cut outside the line copy and paste rinse and repeat instruction, rather, they get to look at a shiny computer or tablet screen, involving their brains in not only those "oooo, aaaa" moments, but engaging and involving them deeper in the content of the lessons.

Kids are so heavily involved with technology today that it can be very important to incorporate it into our classrooms to catch their attention and keep their focus. As a future health and PE teacher, using technology in every lesson can not always be easy but can be possible. Luckily there are advance tools and ideas that can help with being creative in the gym or health class. One thing kids love to do especially when they are working out is listen to music.Providing the students with some music during the class can be a great way to get students to be energetic and stay motivated. There are even some songs that go along with a workout that I have witnessed being used in PE class before and it was awesome! PE central website has a lot of lesson plan ideas to use technology for many ages such as using a projectile screen on the gym wall and have the students throw the balls at the wall aiming for the moving objects. The students were able to use what they have learned on throwing to hit the different objects. For health, using videos during the lesson and colorful powerpoint to enhance the content is a must. Finally, for homework you can allow the students to do some research on the Internet which is more on an independent learning. Because the students relate to technology and use it everyday, we should find ways to use technology to our advantage to involve student learning.

Technology is a very huge part of a humans everyday life! Technology is something that is in everyday life no matter who we are our where we are from. Students especially are starting to use more and more technology at very young ages. Textbooks are becoming a thing in the past due to the great amounts of technology in the world. We as teachers can use technology to involve students to learn in many ways! Using websites such as Padlet, Kahoot, and others can make homework and classwork assignments more interactive and fun! WE ALL KNOW that not all students learn the same way and technology can definitely be a great way to reach all children with there learning style which best suits them. We can use things such as youtube, iMovie, storyboard, and more to help students learn in different ways. Technology can be used during parent/teacher meetings, testing and assessing, and even with experiments. I think that the more teachers think outside the box when planning to use technology to involve students in learning, the easier and more natural it will come to them. Technology also helps students learn to do research on there own properly without being handed the answer to every question asked.

Technology has quickly taken over today's world. We are faced daily with new and exciting ways to use technology for entertainment purposes, to help simplify life, and to learn. Using tablets and laptops to utilize games, online stories, and lessons to go along with a topic is a great way to keep students engaged in learning. In addition to this, a classroom smart board is ideal to involve all of the students in large group. While the children are working on these pieces of technology, they are not only learning, they are building their hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills as well

Technology is very essential in the classroom and I utilize it a great deal within my classroom. Technology is a vital tool that increases students knowledges and exploration. One of the tools I use n the classroom is Google Classroom. This is an incredible tool, when used correctly, to help students complete assignments, and converse within their classroom. Teachers can help prepare students through research and the development of skills in awareness by typing.

Technology in the classroom is essential. We all know that not all students learn the same way, no matter how you teach it. This is where VAKT (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, Tactual) come in to the whole classroom scenario. When looking deeper within the classroom, especially in the Special Education classroom, (where I am specializing to work in), technology plays a big role in helping students achieve maximum potential. Whether it be tablets computers, or assistive technology such as Dynavox, dynavox compass, go talk, or any other assistive devise to help a child communicate within the classroom. There is even technology for the deaf and blind to communicate and learn in the classroom. We all know that technology is taking over the classroom and our lives, but technology has made it easier for children that once wasn’t gave a second thought of being able to succeed in a classroom, to be able to enter in a classroom with confidence to be able to not only learn like the general population, but able to succeed in learning to their maximum potential. There are students that I work with now that use go talk and other augmentative devises and technology to be able to communicate and answer questions, these are the very students that wouldn’t have been given a second glance when it come to achieving goals within the classroom without technology. Looking at technology in a different perspective, I do believe that technology is essential in the classroom.

Using technology in the classroom is a great way to engage the students. It allows them to grasp the information in a fun, casual way. I've noticed that in most formal settings, especially for students who may not be strong in a particular area, they can tend to tense or freeze up during assessment time. Using technology assess students is a create alternative way for those students with test anxiety. For example, you can create Kahoot quizzes for your students to take. It is also great review for a formal test. Other ways to include technology is through promethean boards. I just finished up a lesson on addition with regrouping, and the students were eager to solve the problems using the interactive software from the promethean board.

Technology has become a huge in the education system. Students now have access to chrome books, tablets, desktop computers, smart boards, and just being able involve the use of videos in daily lessons. In the county that I assist in, the students are getting ready to perform their EOG on chrome books. I know that technology is going to just keep growing, but this is one area that I wish they would had thought a little more about. Since this is not going to change, teachers should definitely start giving test on these chrome books early on so that the students will be familiar with the device. Another way to involve technology is by doing simple old research papers. Technology can be used by the students by using the computers to look up information or use the computers to find books on their topic at the library. I have notice that students, especially younger ones, will watch and pay more attention to something on the screen then they do just listening to the teacher. We just want to make sure that technology is not all the students are using during class time, but spread out amongst the day.

As a future high school agriculture teacher, I recognize that the importance and presence of technology will only become increasingly more prevalent as the years go on. We can either treat the use of technology as a nuisance or harness it to engage the students. One of my favorite ways to start class is with a Kahoots review game with questions from the previous day or lecture. Also, technology is more important in agriculture now than it has ever been. I plan to have my students do at least one research project on technological advances in agriculture and how important it has become to our food system. Technology also makes teaching easier if we know how to use it effectively. Online quizzes and review games alone can save us a lot of unnecessary effort in the long run.
