         <description><![CDATA[<div>Encouraging students to reflect on their learning allows them to assess their understanding and effort. Reflection is not only beneficial to students, but teachers as well. When students think back about a lesson or unit and reflect on which strategies help them progress towards proficiency, it lets the teacher know what worked and what did not. Reflecting on learning promotes personal growth, professional growth, and meaningful change. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Journaling</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Journaling is a great way for students to reflect back on a certain lesson and write down what they think is important about a specific topic. Students can write in notebooks that build throughout the school year, adding notes with each lesson that can easily be looked back on. A way to incorporate technology into the journaling strategy, teachers could use the app SeeSaw for students to take pictures of their journal notes to add to a personal online portfolio. </div>]]></description>

         <title>3-2-1 Strategy</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This strategy includes 3 different steps. The first step requires students to answer 3 questions about what they learned during a specific lesson. Next, students must explain 2 things about the lesson that helped them. During the final step, the students must explain to the teacher which strategy used during the lesson helped them learn the most. This strategy helps students think back and reflect, and also promotes class discussion. Technology could be incorporated during this lesson by using Todaysmeet.com. Each student would have a tablet or computer, and they would type and share their responses to each of the 3 steps in the strategy. When they share their response, it will be projected on the IWB so that the class can see and discuss. The teacher can save the feed to use for future planning. </div>]]></description>
