         <description><![CDATA[<div>This example shows the final result of an interactive class activity that kicked off a mini-unit:</div><ol><li>I provided instructions for an in-class assignment at the top and linked online resources directly below it. <em>(Note to self: show original Padlet in Backpack to demonstrate video.)</em></li><li>Student groups viewed the resources and contributed their tip suggestions.</li><li>We discussed the suggestions as a class and groups listed their final tips on the right. Students could participate by speaking up in class and by typing directly in the Padlet.</li></ol>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Student teams created group Padlets to answer a research question on friendship.</li><li>Teams chose tasks selected from a menu including uploading video and audio, posting images, and of course writing. </li><li>I set the program to record user names on posts to track participation.</li><li>Students enjoyed designing their Padlets and found it easy to work together in this medium.</li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>As a "Do Now," every day students respond to a quote from me or from one of their peers. </li><li>Several of my students (including four in this group) almost never participate in class because they aren't confident with their spoken English, they have anxiety issues, or they're just shy.</li><li>The average participation rate for this activity is 75%.</li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This easy-to-use program handles all sorts of media, allowing students to upload video and audio recordings if they wish in addition to photos. Padlet can be used to create individual websites--as I did with this presentation--but I think it really shines for group and whole-class activities. NOTE: Students can access Padlets from within the Canvas LMS, with no need to create separate accounts. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Now I'll walk you through creating and customizing a Padlet using the free version of the software. <br>1. Click the Padlet logo in the upper left of the screen (you may need to scroll up), then click the pink "Make a Padlet" button on the top right of the screen, or in the middle.<br>2. The new Padlet will open with the Modify bar enabled. Select the options you wish and click Next.<br>3. Review the People &amp; Privacy options and modify if desired, then click Next.<br>4. Start posting!<br><br><strong>Tips</strong>:&nbsp;</div><ol><li>To post a comment, double-click anywhere on the screen. Resize boxes by simply clicking and dragging. Move boxes by selecting and dragging.</li><li>To edit a comment box, hover over it and click the Pencil icon. Click anywhere outside the box to save your changes.</li><li>To change the appearance and functionality of your Padlet, click the Gear icon to return to the Modify bar.</li><li>To change the privacy options for your Padlet, obtain the URL or a QI code, export your Padlet as text or an image, and more, click Share.&nbsp;</li></ol>]]></description>
