I do believe in self regulation theory however. Sometimes my class my seem a bit crazy but I allow students to regulate their own behavior. I had to clamp down and start writing students up and contacting parents more. Once I started doing that the behavior has subsided a bit. Next year I need to roll out student behavioral and support plans with certain students for both grades and behavior. Also count down seems to work along with students self regulating their own behavior.
