She had three children and moved to the United States from Ecuador when she was 20 years old to give her children a better life, one that she did not grow up with. Leaving her career of Interior Designing behind, she began work in the factory industry in The States.
Father: (Eustorgio): He is a 53 year old man, married to Betty. He left his life in Ecuador, where he was a writer to ensure a more comfortable life for his family. He began working factory jobs when he first moved to The States to provide for the family.
Older Sister (Joyce): She is the first daughter (26), studying Law and working at a Law Firm in New York City. 
Younger Brother (Aristides): He is a high school student (15)who plays video games in his free time. 
Childhood Friend (Anne): She is a college student (21) and lives in New Jersey. She and Leslie have not talked since middle school, until she reappears in this story.
Protagonist/ Middle Child (Leslie): She is the second daughter and the POV of the film. She is a 21 year old college students pursing an art degree. While I do not know why I keep having this dream from time to time, it is one I have not been able to get and one that still haunts me. 
I decided to turn my fear and subconscious thoughts into art. Using them for this final project is the first step to turning it into something beautiful rather than something scary.



The way this film is written is inspired by Meshes of the Afternoon by Maya Deren. Most of the film takes place in a supermarket parking lot. The beginning of the film takes place in my dining/ living room in my house. The last setting is the endless stairwell, where no one really knows where it is. 
This story takes place in a small village in New Jersey, Ridgefield Park. This is where I live and the parking lot and house are based in this area. Additionally, it is a beautiful day outside. It is sunny, the sky is a bright blue and the clouds are as white as ever. A family of five is debating what to eat for breakfast when suddenly they appear in a parking lot, full of people being taken and tortured. There are fires, there is yelling and there is suffering. The protagonist, Leslie, shows us what is happening through her point of view. She is taken in a van and thrown into a stairwell alone, suffering in pain and separation from her family.
