Rotation between crops, pasture and silvipastoral system

Summer:

  • 48 hectares of crops (3/4 years soybeans, 1 of maize)
  • 12 hectares of silage maize
  • 12 hectares of pasture (Tifton 85: Cynodon spp.) in Silvipastoral system (Eucalyptus spp.)

Winter:

  • About 60 hectares of pasture (Italian Ryegrass / Lolium multiflorum sown with Black Oats / Avena strigosa)
  • If necessary, bulky feed is provided indoors at this stage
  • AYR indoor supplementation with silage and feed during milking activity.

62 lactating cows
32 heifers (>12; <30 months of age)
12 newborns (<12 months)

No real paddock system, cows progress in pasture as they eat it
