While the other pigs decided to use weak materials such as straw to build their houses, the last pig decided to use a stronger and more durable material. This shows how out of all the little pigs the last pig was able to build a better shelter compared to his brothers because of the brick he decided to use.

The pig then retreated to the second house. This shows the extent of the first pig’s safety as their house was made out of sticks which was able to be blown away by the wolf.

Both the first little pig and the second little pig decided to play after building “protection,” which shows them being lazy, causing their houses to be blown down by the wolf. The first little pig was the laziest and built his house with straw, however, the second little pig was a bit more hard working but still was lazy enough to build his house with sticks and called it a day, ultimately resulting in both of their house being blown down. They share the same feature of being lazy so it builds suspense to see the result of the third little pig’s house.

The first two pigs had an inadequate amount of material and it caused their houses to be blown down. According to the story, the first pig was way too lazy and did not work at all, so he built it out of straw. The second pig was also somewhat lazy so he built it out of sticks. This demonstrates a big central theme because if one does not work hard enough, there are consequences for it.

The laziness of making a protective house by the first two pigs led to their house getting blown away. Since the first and second pigs were too lazy to get strong materials for their house, they got weaker materials instead. The first pig used straws and the second one used sticks, which both got blown down by the wolf. This demonstrates how the pigs were unprotected due to the weakness of their houses.

Throughout the story, the first two little pigs’ opinions of their brother and his house change. The first two little pigs’ took the shortest amount of time to build their house, while the third little pig took longer as he was working with harder materials. The first two little pigs’ made fun of him for this as his house took longer to build. In the end, however, the first two little pigs’ houses were blown down by the wolf, causing them to beg and respect their brother as he built a stable and safe house that would never be blown over. This demonstrates continuity and change over time as over time, the first two pigs’ opinions shifted from making fun of the third pig to begging him for protection from the wolf.

The wolf stays mostly the same throughout the story as shown by his actions and motives. This is because the wolf attempts to blow down all the houses in search of the pigs he can eat. He keeps using the same method of destruction until he realizes that the 3rd house is too strong and instead attempts to enter via the chimney with the same motivation of hunting the pigs. The wolf who constantly attempts to blow down the houses made by the pigs can show he symbolizes a strong adversity in life and the 3 pigs must have been prepared for the challenges caused by him.
