I did take Intro to Education last semester but Intro to SPED was by far my favorite. I believe I was very uninformed about SPED prior to the class. I did meet some of my own expectations when it came to projects, because teaching takes a lot of creativity. Creativity is something that I am really working on and I think that my projects reflected that I have grown in that area. I think that the biggest things I will always remember from this class and one day use in my own is personal relationships. Growing up, relationships with teachers were hard for me to come by. But it is something I am choosing to make sure I incorporate into my own classroom in the future. Another thing I would like to take with me is humor. Dr. Hale always made the classroom environment welcoming and full of energy. My classmates were also contributed to a healthy learning environment and made class interesting. I had other classes this semester that were bearable but this class made me feel connected with everyone and I was always happy to be in attendance. I think that Dr. Hale just overall did a good job of instructing and giving the feedback we need to improve on each assignment. You can tell that she takes the time look at your work, and appreciated the time that you put into it.
