Focusing on LIB used in iPhone's: Aging is a huge and ignored concern with lithium ion batteries. Some capacity deterioration is noticeable after a year.The battery most likely will fail after 2-3 years. You can get your battery replaced by your phone carrier (ex:verizon) or replace the phone.
