It was a sustainable 100+ hour self-developed project, where I created a comprehensive bi-weekly reading curriculum for girls learning to speak English. I helped improve their literacy skills and promoted exposure to new concepts and ideas. It was continued virtually during the summer due to COVID- 19. I gathered donated materials to construct take-a-book-leave-a-book libraries. In addition, I partnered with our Peer Leaders and Woodshop team for the libraries, volunteering, and awareness. If I am being honest, I did not think that I would have choosen Rutgers. Wellesley was my top choice for a while near the end :)) To think that last summer, I had no idea where I wanted to attend, what I wanted to do, when I would get the opportunity to finish my ACT/SAT retesting is...crazy. But what is happening at the hands of the Israeli country is absolutely horrible - and because of a religion at that. It really awful...what is being done. I had encountered a march on College Ave, on Rutgers, when visiting one day. This was something that had so deeply resonated with me because the person being forced down could have so easily been one from my own family - my dad, my uncles, my cousins. It's scary.
