I enjoy working on procreate and photoshop to create quirky characters, with bold and dynamic colours and compositions. 

What's with all the dots?

Yayoi Kusama tells the story of how when she was a little girl she had a hallucination that freaked her out. She was in a field of flowers when they all started talking to her! The heads of flowers were like dots that went on as far as she could see, and she felt as if she was disappearing or as she calls it ‘self-obliterating’ – into this field of endless dots. This weird experience influenced most of her later work.

By adding all-over marks and dots to her paintings, drawings, objects and clothes she feels as if she is making them (and herself) melt into, and become part of, the bigger universe. She said:

His first picture book, Blown Away, was published in 2014 and was only the second illustrated book in history to win the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize.

As well as working on his own books he also illustrates for other authors including Michael Bond (of Paddington fame), Jeff Brown (the Flat Stanley series), Philip Ardagh, Piers Torday, Jenny Pearson, Garth Jennings, Jess Butterworth, SE Durrant, Christian O'Connell and Barry Hutchison. Rob was the official World Book Day Illustrator for 2019, 2020 and 2021.

The animation and vibrancy in each work takes us straight back to the streets which inspired them, and has won him exhibitions and admirers in places as diverse in the world.
Today, his works are valued and represented in galleries around the world in places as UK, USA, Milan, Hong Kong and Dubai.

Superheroes, scientists, artists, movie stars, animals – all these and many more subjects make appearances in his work. Using humor and defiance, he gives an artistic voice to his world view, exploring issues which he cares passionately about, from social criticism to iconic homage, in his deeply personal language.

Born in Tel Aviv- ‘the other city that never sleeps’ - In the late 70s, Yuvi spent much of his early life in a hipster neighborhood known as Florentine which is now the heart of the city’s graffiti scene. Yuvi grew up surrounded by graffiti, music, politics and the social agenda of a city with a hugely cosmopolitan character. All these influences combined to ignite his imagination and direct his creative and tempestuous personality into highly expressive and vibrant artistic statements.

 

Yuvi creates his own one of a kind, fun, humorous and exciting art pieces, and enjoys bringing his expression of freedom and love into the homes of all those who buy his art.  

One of the first big commissions he got from was done by Marvel Entertainment specifically from Craig Kyle & Kevin Feige for the main poster for Thor. Another notable piece of work he was commissioned for was for JK Rowling and her series Harry Potter.
