In the book  racism is not good because it affects matt and freeman because police harass their muslim teammates. This affects people because some don't get the chance to play because of their race or are treated badly, This issue should be solved because everyone should be equal and especially during team sports you have to work together and get along with each other.

Matt was going through some hard times with his family and was annoyed of his wealthy mother. he wanted to play football so he flew to france without his family's permission and to get away from the hard times he's having. Matt and freeman are high schoolers who ended up being on the same team named Diables Rouges. The roster was primarily of north african descent. Matt stays with his friend and explore the city of paris together.
