Choose ONE of the following multinational corporations and summarize a news story in which a multinational company EITHER a) challenged the authority of a government OR b) is being challenged by a government on the principles and practices associated with free-market economics

The United States government challenged Apple with encryption in 2020. The government had asked Apple to unlock two encrypted iPhones that belonged to a shooter, however, Apple disagreed. This was because if they had agreed, then it would lower the safety that people have on their phones allowing their information to be safely stored. With the way that Apple encrypts their phones, it is near impossible for the company's own engineers to unencrypt devices. If devices were unencrypted, then every Apple device would have a weaker encryption, so many peoples personal information would be in danger from repressive governments and malware developers. In 2016, the US government had tried to force Apple to unencrypt devices with a court case, however, it did not work. When Apple challenged the court case, the government ended up paying professional hackers to get into the shooters phone.
