On a bright Saturday morning, I was feeling quite excited. It was finally time to experience something new after going through the same boring lessons everyday. I already packed 2 days before, so I was more than ready to go on this trip. I was wearing my navy blue shirt given to us by the school, accompanied by comfy black sweatpants, and a pair of running shoes. I was waiting outside my house for my friend Elric to pick me up, who was also going to Ambarawa. Eventually he picked me up, and we made our way to the station. There, I got my ticket, and now just waited for everyone to arrive. While waiting, I went to Indomaret to buy a couple lozenges for my then soar throat, and took a final group photo with my friends before everyone finally arrived and we started walking to our train. Before we got on the train, we took a group photo, first of many soon to come.

We boarded the train around 9am. On the train, I was seated with my then not so close friend Raphael, and we were given Hokben to eat before we arrived there. Me and Raphael both switched seats so we could get closer to our friends, and the seats could be turned around, so I just sat with almost all of my bros in the train. On the trip to the hotel, I explored the train a couple of times, visited my other friends on the train, watched a couple episodes of this TV show I'm watching, and played some games with my friends. Eventually, we arrived at Semarang, where we then took a 2 hour drive to our hotel at Ambarawa.

5.22PM was the exact time we arrived at the hotel. There, I unpacked my things, and got ready for dinner. I also opened the connecting hotel room door and saw Revian and Raphael, my new roommates alongside Zefanya, my actual roommate. We would leave the door open for the rest of the trip. We soon left the hotel for dinner at Dalon Sawah, which had a beautiful view of the Ambarawa fields and mountains. When we finished, we went to a supermarket to buy offerings and items we were gonna donate to the areas we're providing for. I bought a lollipop whistle there, it was so cool. My friend Elric broke it immediately after I bought it. After that sad interaction, we went back to the hotel and were told to go to bed. Me and my roommates had a different idea though, and every boy in the trip went to our rooms and just hung around until we eventually got tired and went to bed.

I woke up to the sound of everyone still snoring. A bit too early yeah, so I got up and took a shower before everyone else. Then we all had breakfast, and after that we were allowed to hang around a little while longer before going to our first job. We all wore batiks for the occasion, as we had to go to a small church. There, after the pastor gave the morning sermon, we all went to the front of the church and sang the certified banger, "Syukur Bagimu Tuhan." After that, we gave our church offerings, and was given some goodie bags filled with snacks as the church members thanked us for our service.

After that, we drove back to our hotel to change our clothes to the HnW clothes, and were allowed to have a little 40 minute-ish break before going to Warung Joglo Bu Rini for lunch. The food was decent, but the best part was that we were allowed to explore the fields filled with crops and even rivers full of little tadpoles. But we soon had to go again of course, this time to an orphanage. On the way the way there, we all played many songs on the car speaker, singing together in perfect harmony (not really). When we arrived, we brought the items we purchased yesterday and brought them inside, where we later donated them. But when we entered and were introduced to the kids, they gave us a performance to a song that we didn't plan for, So, we all got up and just improv'd a performance to many dancing songs. We were not good. After that, we had an activity where we helped the kids make a little bag that they could draw on, and keep afterwards. I helped some of them but in the end I just ended up designing a bag of my own.

Then after this, we all drove to Banaran Sky View for dinner. The view was incredible, and we took so many photos my phone's storage started sweating. The food was pretty good, and we all just sang songs and talked to each other until it was time to go back to the hotel. On the drive there, we stopped again at another store, this time a smaller one. We just wanted to get some snacks and drinks for the hotel. When we went back to the hotel, I took a nice hot shower, and then watched the movie, "A Silent Voice" with all my friends. We made cup ramen while watching it, and when the movie ended we all went to bed.

I woke up feeling tired on monday, probably because we all stayed up and watched a movie till morning. We had some time to spare in the morning, so after breakfast everyone just played ML for a while before leaving again. This time we went back to the orphanage to just hang out with the orphans one last time. We also ate lunch with them, and made sushi too, so it was really just time to hang out. We then left, and went straight to the next place, the nursing home. We arrived a bit too early, so we had a lot of time to spare. There was a massive statue of the virgin mary outside, but there wasn't really much to do there other than take photos. However, across the street from the statue there was a massive park, so we decided to go there. Throughout the park, it showed the story of Jesus and the stories from the bible. It showed them in statues showcasing what happened, but the statues themselves were old and broken, so it sort of took us out of the experience. And there was trash everywhere, so it looked really dirty. But it was still sorta cool I guess. Then it was time to finally go inside the nursing home. There, we just sang a couple church songs for them, and then just talk to them and make a bracelet for them. It was fine, but the grandma I got couldn't speak any Bahasa Indonesia, so it was just really hard to talk to her. Our PIC understood how to speak javanese, so he helped us talk to her, but she was still not cooperating (she doesn't want the bracelet because she thinks it'll be a hassle for us). We soon left and ate dinner, this time at a really small restaurant, so it wasn't that memorable. Then we went back to the hotel and went straight to bed. This day wasn't that memorable for me, but in the end we are here to serve, which we did.

Woke up, took a bath, got in the normal UPH school uniform, ate breakfast and we started driving to the Kristen Lintera Middle School. Before the school day began, we all gathered outside to the field where the did a band performance for us. Then, me and my group went to our assigned classroom. There, me and my friend Zefanya had to teach the kids about technology and social media. Zefanya said he couldn't talk to kids, so I just resorted to being really loud and goofy. I also took a picture of the class student list beforehand, so I had this method of just mentioning a random kid's name, and then asking them a question about the topic discussed. I was surprisingly decent as a teacher. The kids wanted my instagram username after that, so I think it was a smashing success. After that fun, albeit tiring service, we went back to the hotel to change our clothes. We got a lot of break time, so I just took a bath because why not. Then we went to a restaurant to eat. The restaurant was in this little neighborhood, because its actually inside a house. The house had tons of sports decor, and the food was pretty good. We then went straight to the mountains. Yep, we hiked around an entire mountain. It was very long, and very tiring, but so much fun. I recorded the entire hiking journey, and my phone's storage is now divorcing me. Me and my friends had lots of fun, and lots of pictures, and I even made a friend up there, his name's Rudy. After leg day, we all met up and started driving to another restaurant. On the way there, we sang some more karaoke. When we arrived, the restaurant was huge, and so were the food portions, it was quite filling. Then we drove back to the hotel, singing more karaoke of course. At my room, me and my friends played a lot of uno, blackjack and even poker (using fake money) to pass the time until we all went to sleep for the next day.

I didn't take any photos on Wednesday sadly. On wednesday, we went to a primary school and just helped the kids make these 3d puzzles. We all got separated into groups of kids that we had to manage. I got the boys, and had to do the puzzle of the empire state building. It was surprisingly complicated, and if I was confused, imagine the kids I'm helping. Eventually all of my other group members came in and helped me make the puzzle. Then after that we went back to the hotel for a little break. There, I think I took a bath, and then just slept for a bit. Then we had to go, and went back to the nursing home and just talked some more with the grandmas. This time I had a grandma that could actually speak Bahasa Indonesia, but her voice was so quiet. She was talkative, but her voice was so small. Eventually we all started driving to a restaurant, in fact it was the same restaurant from the beginning, Dolan Sawah, so nothing new. Then we all drove back to the hotel, where the rest of the day was completely free for us to do whatever we want. Me and my friends just played a lot of UNO. No seriously we played until midnight.

We all woke up tired on thursday. Almost everyone slept on the ride back to the school. But of course we woke ourselves up and the activities began. There was another morning ceremony that they did before we all began, and they even gave us goodie bags to start off the day. This time, we all just played games with them. Me and Zefanya went to our little post, and just played jebot with them, a guessing game. Because of the amount of people playing with us, I met a lot of kids. I even met a little guy named Ello (he was the best), and I gave him my nametag as a souvenir, and made a secret handshake with him. I also met a little girl would constantly run to me and duel me in jebot. She was hilarious, and she was pretty good at jebot to be honest. One of the better ones compared to everyone else. Then after that, we took a massive group photo, and then took off back to the hotel.

There we were told to change into any choice of clothing we liked, but itt had to be neat of course. I chose a simple white tee, and a pair of shorts. We of course ate first, this time back at the resto inside the house. We then went on our way to climb another mountain. Well, the name said Roa Cave, but we ended up just climbing to the top instead of descending to the bottom. This time, the hike up was really tiring. The roads were really steep, and the path keps moving from left to right. But I pulled through, and was significantly further ahead compared to the other guys. Me and Zefanya were just hiking together considering everyone else was so far behind. I pulled out my speaker and blasted some music to make the trip up a little less tiring, and it worked. Me and Zefanya were just dancing our way up. Eventually, we reached the top, to the most stunning view I have ever witnessed. I took tons of photos again, crippling my storage at this point. We had time to just hang around, and there was even a playground me and my friends just played in. We then took another massive group photo, and we went on our way to the restaurant. Thankfully, we didn't have to hike all the way down, and we just drove al the way to the restaurant. The restaurant this time was very modern. It was indoors, had really cold air conditioning, and decent food. Although the food was surprisingly in such small portions. I was barely full after that. I finished it quite quick, so then I had time to play at another playground outside the restaurant. After this, we went back to the hotel, singing more karaoke of course, and when we arrived back we played some more UNO too. The we tucked in for the next day.

The final day at Ambarawa. I didn't even feel it to be honest, I just had so much fun the entire trip, I didn't feel that it was ending this day. I am so grateful to have gone on this journey with my friends, and I will cherish the memories I made forever. This day we had no services to do, and we just went to a train museum. To get to the actual museum, we had to go on one of those old steam engine trains. It was really cool, but really slow. I took some more photos from inside the train. It was really cool, but I didn't take many photos of the actual museum sadly. My phone got locked because my fingerprint scanner registered my thigh as a fingerprint, and it registered it so many times my phone got locked for an hour. I was basically forced into a 1 hour smartphone detox. It's fine though, in fact it just made the activities I had there really fun. I raced with my friends on the tracks, I climbed on a lot of broken down trains, and I drank lots of coffee for some reason. Then we went back to the hotel to check out. I packed all my things already, so I was again, more than ready. We then went to a restaurant, I forgot the name, but it was quite modern again. The portions this time were huge though, it felt like I was going into hibernation. At the restaurant there was another playground outside, so me and my friends played there while waiting for the others to finish. There was a roundabout there, and me and my friends just spun ourselves around until we got sick (not recommended). One my friends even puked. We eventually made our way back to the station, and we got on our train home. On the train ride there, I just kind of dozed off for around half the trip. But, on the other half, I played games with my friends. We all laughed so hard our stomachs started hurting. It was a fitting end to my journey, filled with laughs. Eventually, we parted ways, and drove our way home.
