Part I

I managed to move up to grade 11, I managed to make trustworthy friends, I was able to gain confidence in myself.

My shyness and anxiety during presentations, as well as my unsociable demeanor making it hard to talk to groupmates at times.

By taking deep breaths, and relying on my improvisation to keep going.

They helped scar me, actually, but also heal a part of me. Especially when I met a particular classmate, and friend of mine, Billy, or as he's most comfortable being called, Zak (Zakari). He helped me heal my inner child, as well as grow more sociable, and come out of my shell.

Part II

I look forward to improving myself in my skills, and gaining experience to be more professional and mature.

My natural friendliness, ability to defuse situations, being the equalizer during arguments or discussions, as well as my innate anxiety that causes my over preparedness.

I would need verbal and physical support from trusted friends and family. I would need assurance that I'm doing great, as well as guidance from LF's to steer me into the right path. What I need is a healthy and welcoming environment to study in. Which si why I try my hardest to keep my classmates in line, and keep everyone bonded in some way. Even if I know it's not exactly going to be a permanent solution.

Affirmation Statement:

" When all is hopeless, when all is numb, when all you can do is pause and sob a song. Remember to pause, and rewind yourself back. Ensure not to unravel, like freyed threads of a fabric. Remember that I AM HERE. For your sparks of hope, are still waiting for you."

Part I:

One of my accomplishments during my junior high school years was getting a merit award by the end of the school year together with my friends as we moved up to our senior high school year. For some, this is just a small thing, but for me, it meant so much since I promised myself that I'd do better in grade 10, as I failed to get a merit award when I was in grade 9. Alongside, I’ve also met a lot of people that helped me socialize and step out of my comfort zone. As an introverted person, I wasn’t really much of a social butterfly, and I nearly feared interacting and joining organizations or clubs, but during 10th grade, I’ve decided to surround myself with people who are in the same interests as me, and that really helped me to overcome my battles, may they be silent or loud ones.

It’s more of a battle just between myself. I always try to challenge myself and see myself as a competitor so that I know where to improve and be better. I didn’t dwell much when I failed to get the merit award in 9th grade. Instead, I sought that experience as a redirection, not a rejection.

By reminding myself that I can be better each day and I have the power to turn all my weaknesses into my strengths with the right mindset.

I shaped me into who I am today by teaching me that not every failure that comes into your life will entirely block all of the upcoming opportunities that you have in your way; you really just have to acquire the perseverance and motivation to go through all of it and learn from it. I believe that there is no such thing as missed opportunities; maybe everything that you’ve missed isn’t just for you, and the better things are just yet to come.

Part II:

I look forward to getting to experience things that are out of my element. For example, joining contests during the funweek. I also look forward to independent learning being as effective as traditional learning is for me.

I believe that I am a well-driven person, and that will get me into places. If I set my mind and heart on something, I do everything in my power to get it.

Moral and emotional support from my peers.

Everything that I want wants me even more.

I never made any friends all throughout the online classes caused by the pandemic. Coming into grade 10 face to face classes, I was super shy as I did not know anyone, I found it hard to interact and make friends with my classmates.

3) How were you able to overcome those challenges?

I only managed to overcome this because someone started talking to me and because of the groupings. I had to get out of my comfort zone and was forced to interact with them and that made me who I am today.

4) How did you JHS experiences develop you into the kind of person that you are now?

My JHS experiences changed who I was and pushed me out of my comfort zone, because of these experiences I was able to become a better person and a better student.

Part 2: Looking Forward to Senior High School

1) What do you look forward to SHS?

I look forward to meeting new people, learning new things and once again going out of my comfort zone by trying things I never thought I would do.

2) What personal strengths do you have that will enable you to prepare for SHS?

Since JHS I have gotten better at interacting with others and cooperating with my peers, I have gotten smarter and these will help me prepare for my upcoming SHS years.

3) Aside from your personal strengths, what kind of support and resources would you need?

I would want to receive support from my friends and family, words of encouragement and help whenever I need it. As a student facing academic pressure and preparing for Senior High School, I know the importance of creating a study schedule and seeking guidance from my teachers. My Junior High School experiences as an sc officer and high achiever have significantly shaped who I am in Senior High School. Back when I was in JHS, I really don't know how to manage my tume properly that's why sometimes I am cramming my activities the night before the deadline or the day of the deadline.

3. I just tried my very best to do and pass all my activities in time.

4. For me JHS era was indeed fun and exciting. You get to know and interact with different people and my experiences taught me a lot of lessons that I am now applying to myself.

PART 2:

1. Actually the thing that im really looking forward in my SHS is having friends because I don't want to experience again the problem I experienced with the group of friends I chose back then when I was in JHS.

2. I think open mindedness, kindness, positivity, and adaptability.

3. Aside from my personal strengths, I also need my family and my bf support and I think I also need to improve my communication skills in order to achieve the thing that I am looking forward to, and also more confidence.

AFFIRMATION STATEMENT

“If you focus on what you left behind you will never see what lies ahead.”

JHS 1. In my JHS year I became the deputy commander of C.A.T at my previous school 2. It was kinda challenging for me because i have to lead and teache other platoons and officers what i know about C.A.T 3. I overcomed the hardship because of the help of my other fellow officers 4. It helped me to be well experienced and well disciplined Part (2) 1. I look forward on finishing SHS 2. I can go to school and have so much energy even with out enough sleep 3.
