This picture was from the first roll of film that I shot. I didn't really understand how to work the light meter on my camera so I wasn't aware that the pictures might not turn out, but I got lucky and my whole roll of film was nicely exposed. I consider this a successful darkroom print .

Me and bridge were eating humus watching tv and she was trying to say something but was laughing to hard she couldnt. I quickly grabbed my film camera and took a bunch of pictures , hoping I would've gotten a good action shot . I finally developed my film and saw this picture . This stop action print is actually on of my favorite because it wasnt on purpose I judt caught that moment which is amazing considering how clear and sharp the picture is . I would definitly consider this picture a success because all of the key components are pretty much on point.

When I developed the film I saw this picture and decided to print/develop it. It's not one of my favorite landscape pictures you could say, but I would consider it very crisp and focused for an accidental photograph

Another one of the difficult tasks we had to do was make a camera out of an oatmeal container. It was very challenging on making the camera lightproof and on top of that making sure that the aperture wasn't to big or that the container didn't shake when I had to take my finger off of the aperture hole. I was actually really satisfied with the way it came out not considering I had to remake it multiple times to get the exposure just right.

My self portrait was something I really went into depth with . We had to not only take a self portrait using the camera timer and not have someone else take it , but we also had to take it so it represented somewhat of my personality . The intentions behind on why I took my portrait this way was because I've had a lot of trust issues with people. I edited it a little bit on the contrast just to bring out the blues so that way the color blue would also be representing sadness.

Also , this picture has real strong composition which actually might be my best composed piece of photo 1. I would consider this a really successful print the exposure is really well done and just ties it all together.

I didn't realize the letters were going to be backwards until after I did it. I would consider this an unsuccessful photogram because there are to many subjects in the photogram and the black value is to consistent. Although it did teach me on how to work the photo process.

I took this not knowing how to work the light meter so therefore it turned out kinda on the grey scale . I wouldn't consider this successful just because of the exposure but I do think the composition is done well for my first intention of taking film.

This assignment was to get a couple things and place them in a good compositional way . Not only place objects in a compositional way but the objects had to be something that represented your personality . You had to explain the objects and why you chose them. I wish I would've made more of a focus on one subject and not focused on all of them. Also I wanted a more of a value scale and not such a grey exposure.

The purpose of solarizing would be to get that in between black and white filter. I would consider this a so-so print , I wish I experimented more with the effect in the darkroom but unfortunately I didn't take the time to .

This was the last roll I've ever taken in Photo 2 . I think you can definitly see the difference between some of my earlier pictures and the perspectives that I shot in. This image compared to the first couple ones is very , very clear and focused. The lighting is excellent. This would be a motivation to me to continue to actually try to learn to use the camera and use other successful rolls as examples so that way you get it good everytime . This picture I would consider successful because the rhythm , the repitition and the exposer are all very well put together . Im overall happy on what I started from and ended up at .

So i backed up and tried to curve my finger "around" the small can ( which really just a couple feet away from me) . I had to also make sure that the shawdows wouldnt be a disttraction. I would classify this picture as a success because it was one of my first trys on forced prespective shoots. s

This was a continuing theme that we had to do for a competition . I love the reflections and focuses in the picture . It is really eye catching about the movement you think the water is going in. I liked the cool colors on this particular picture and it does look flat but the least of flat from every other picture . I also like the focus point on the metal rod . It was turning point on using flash and to start to learn natural and unnatural lighting. Espicially, with my photoshoots.

I exposed this for at least 5 minutes in the dark while she walked with one phone light on every level. At the end I stopped the exposure and this was the outcome. It reminds me of either an audience waving their phone lights at a concert or a bunch of lights shinning on a lake . I would consider this a successful light painting because of the composition and the lighting.

I went to the piano in the auditorium and took maybe 2 separate composed pictures of the piano strings and tuners. This one was the better of the 2 because you have the silver that gives off that shine which is white and then you have the shadows on silver parts that aren't being shinned on. I also thought that the repetition of the strings added to the picture to give it rhythm.

One of our many assigned film themes was depth of field . This picture took me forever to get focused and right in the center. I went outside to my mailbox and the metal part holding it up I could see through all the way to the other mailboxes so I took multiple shots to make sure if I didn't like one I could have the other pictures I shot to see which one was better in other words as a backup. I really like the composition and the exposure in this picture especially being one of my first assignments.

Hand Tinting

I didn't really like the process of hand tinting I felt that it was really hard to get it exactly where you want it and to get it dark enough for it to be the correct color. I tried it on one of my first prints , but the green oil base didn't really get as dark or as clear in the design as I thought it would be. I also wish that the print was a lot better expensed.

This picture was part of my christmas film . I was just wondering around my house for things I could take a picture of from worms eye view and look real. As if the nutcracker is only maybe a foot tall it looks about 3 feet tall in the picture. I tried to really focus on the perspective view on this roll of film . Not only did I have to focus on that but also the proper bruning and dodging for things such as the dark eyebrows on the nutcracker also to the greyish coat on him.

I was in the darkroom after I had finished my assignment for the day and saw that some people enlarged their picture . I wanted to try it . This was the first time I tried it , it was actually really hard because if your films even a little bit dusty then its going to be grainy . You also have to get the best exsposure . I did a good job on the focus point but not on getting the picture not grainy.
