Dear diary,

I just got done with my first year of sharecropping. It sucks. At first i thought that it would be nice, but its not. I ended up directly where I started money wise. The original owner of the land still got more money than i did. I had to borrow money from them so that I could buy food before the harvest theb had to pay them back after and gained very little to none money. Maybe this year i can get some more money out of the harvest.

Reconstruction: Success or Failure?

Reconstruction was, in my opinion, a failure. All the things that the government made for the African-Americans looked like they could work but if it did, it helped very little to none. At the end of the Reconstruction era all the enforcers of the law in the south were taken out of the South following the election of 1877 anyway, so most likely the African-Americans weren't actually treated like Americans until later on in history. Due to these facts, in my opinion, Reconstruction was a failure.
