TikTok, as known as a social media that popular among the young people. According to a data statistic on 2021 based on TikTok,it has more than 689 million people using the app in the worldwide,and it is not included China, because the app was not called TikTok in there. There is 600 million active users in China, therefore there's 1.29 billion people were using the app and 66% of the users were under 30. (Smterph, 2021). Why is it so popular? To find out this, we need to know some information about it.

TikTok as a successful app, the reason for its success is inseparable from the advantages it has.

A large portion of users had post their funny videos to entertain others. Here you can temporarily put your worries aside and just enjoy(Myayan, nd).

Anyone at anytime can edit and upload their own videos

You don't need to specifically edit videos or add background music when using this app, it brings you the easiest interface with easy-to-use audio and video editing options. You don't need any necessary skills, just do whatever you like and express yourself in your network(Cnlc, 2020).

You can learn or getting new things

Through the wide range of skills and knowledge shared on Tik Tok, you can acquire and learn new daily information about things that you interested in.

Disadventage

On the other hand, as more and more people using the TikTok, its disadvantages and the negative effects it brings cannot be ignored.

Overuse, addiction and wasting time

Although it was originally meant to joy people, but some people have become addicted, and because most of the time you can't learn anything from a short 15 second video, therefore it's a waste of time.

Online Harassment and Uncensored Content

Because of its freedom to upload videos, some people use it to mock or offend other people or the community. Also, some videos use pseudo-logic to distort the perspective of people with poor critical minds so that they cannot see things properly.

Its future

With today's trends, TikTok will only going to become more and more common for everyone. At least in a short period of time, it cannot be replaced by new apps. Because TikTok is more than just another fad — it fills the void of authentic, public and adaptable social media in the online world of the past decade(Keselj, M 2022). TikTok is a world-changing innovation, and trying to kill it would ignore reality and miss out on all the benefits it can bring.

The future is now, this era is called TikTok.

In September 2016, a Chinese company called ByteDance has launched a app and named it Douyin (Chinese TikTok). As this app has been created, 100 million people joined within just 1 year. On 9 November 2017, ByteDance acquired an app called Musical.ly for 1 billion US dollars, then combine it with Douyin and born TikTok (Kumar.D 2021). Since then, it has swept the world like a storm. Following a surge in popularity during the coronavirus pandemic, TikTok was downloaded more than 2 billion times globally on iOS and Android devices in April, according to app analytics firm Sensor Tower (2020).
